The Election Commission of India has announced the schedules of the crucial assembly elections to five states: Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telengana and Mizoram. As per the schedules, while polling will be held in two phases in Chhattisgarh on November 7 and 17 there will be single-phase polling in other four states -in Mizoram on November 7, Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Rajasthan on November 23 and Telangana on November 30. The counting of votes will be taken up on December 3. The political parties are attaching immense importance to these assembly elections as they will be held in the run-up to the 2024 general election.
