The 127 Eco Task Force of the Territorial Army, Dehradun organized a special plantation event “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” at Devi Danda, Kasyali in Yamkeshwar block of Pauri district on Wednesday. The event was held to commemorate the occasion of the platinum jubilee of the TA to be held in October this year.
A communiqué of the TA claimed that about 10,000 saplings of mixed varieties were planted. A total of 250 villagers from Kasyali, Khobra, Bissi, Chopra and Banchuri village, students of government inter college, Banchuri and 100 troops of 127 Eco Task Force participated in the event.
“The participants were encouraged to adopt a tree and were also told about the importance of sustaining environmental health and combating climate change,’’ the communiqué said.
