Edu department to impart free coaching to 10 K students for competitive exams

The Education department will provide free coaching facilities to 10,000 students to prepare them for the competitive examinations this year.
This information was given to the chief secretary Anand Bardhan during a review meeting on the free coaching scheme for students from weaker sections of the society preparing for competitive exams, held at the State secretariat on Wednesday.
In the meeting Bardhan directed the Education department to enhance the quality of the free coaching scheme. He emphasised the importance of selecting candidates through a screening process and arranging preparation time that accommodates the candidates’ schedules.
The CS stated that the free coaching initiative should not be a mere formality but should aim to achieve tangible results. He instructed that all procedures be completed promptly to facilitate this goal.
The director, Secondary Education Mukul Kumar Sati said that the candidates enrolled in Class XI will receive two years of coaching, while those who have completed Class XII will receive one year of coaching. The programme will cover all three streams: Arts, Science and Commerce, and will include preparation for nearly all relevant exams. Additionally, meritorious candidates will have access to six months of advanced coaching.
