Edu dept starts 10-day enrollment campaign for govt schools

To increase student enrollment in the government schools of the state, the Education department of Uttarakhand has undertaken a massive enrollment campaign (Pravesh Utsav). The 10 days drive would culminate on April 30. The Education and Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat kick started the campaign from Government Inter College Srinagar on Wednesday. He said that the objective of the drive is to ensure that all the children of the state are admitted in the schools. Rawat said that the department would provide a computer system to the top ten schools that achieve highest enrollment in the drive in their district. Rawat has directed the director general (DG) school education, director education ( primary, secondary), all additional, joint, deputy and assistant director and all district and block level officers to continuously monitor the drive in the next 10 days.
The minister started the drive from Srinagar while the Education DG Banshidhar Tiwari launched it from Dehradun on Wednesday. Similarly the Education director R K Kunwar reached Government Inter College Gaindkhal in Pauri district to formally start the mega admission drive.
