The Dehradun based Combined Institute of Medical Sciences and research (CIMS) and Uttaranchal Institute of Hospitality Management and Tourism (UIHMT) group of colleges have decided to provide free higher education to children orphaned due to the Covid-19 pandemic. These institutes would provide free education to 100 such children. The chairman of UIHMT and CIMS groups, Lalit Mohan Joshi said that as a responsible member of the society, he understands his accountability towards such children. “We have decided that such orphaned children would be given free admission in the courses run by the institutes. Apart from it we would bear the entire cost of their studies,’’ he said.
Joshi added that more than 30 students belonging to very poor parents have so far received free education in the institute for the last eight years. The CIMS is engaged in medical and para medical education for the last 20 years while UIHMT is working in the field of higher education in hotel management.
