Education department suspends BEO of Khanpur in Haridwar

Taking stern note of the case in which the block education officer (BEO) of Khanpur in Haridwar was caught red handed while accepting a bribe from a teacher, the education department has suspended the officer. The action against the BEO was taken on the orders of the education minister Dhan Singh Rawat.
The minister said that on one hand the State government is doing every possible effort to strengthen the education system and some employees of the department are bent on defaming the department. He said that BEO of Khanpur, Ayazuddin was caught red handed by a vigilance team while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Friday. He said that the BEO has been suspended and during the suspension period he will remain attached with the chief education officer (CEO) office in Haridwar.
The minister added that taking cognizance of a viral video; he has asked the district education officer (DEO) primary of the Pauri district to suspend an assistant teacher of Upper Primary School (UPS) Ranakot, Suresh Kumar Nautiyal in the Kot block. In the video the teacher appeared drunk. Rawat said that both cases will be investigated by the department and stern action will be taken against the culprits.
