Education Dept appoints 749 guest teachers in Govt schools

The Education department has appointed 749 guest teachers for the subjects of science, mathematics and English in the government schools located in remote areas of 11 districts of the State. The appointment of these teachers will help in solving the problem of lack of teachers in remote and mountainous areas.

The Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the government had appointed 4,200 guest teachers on the vacant posts of LT, lecturers and assistant teachers in the year 2018. He said at that time about 1,000 such teachers could not get posting in the schools due to different reasons. He said that at present there are 749 vacant posts of teachers in subjects of science, English and mathematics and the department has prepared a district wise merit list of the eligible candidates.

 Rawat said that 101 guest teachers will  be appointed in Chamoli, 112 in Pithoragarh, 88 in Pauri, 157 in Almora, 35 in Nainital, 41 in Champawat, 68 in Bageshwar, 76 in Rudraprayag, 40 in Tehri, 40 in Uttarkashi and 17 in mountainous areas of Dehradun. The minister expressed hope that the appointment of these teachers will help in providing better education to the students of remote and mountainous schools.
