The School Education department will soon recruit 599 guest teachers of arts stream in the government schools of the State. The Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that these guest teachers will be deployed in the schools located in the remote and mountainous areas of the State. He said after the appointment of the guest teachers in the science stream, the State government has now decided to appoint guest teachers of arts.
He said that under the general category 511 and women category 88 guest teachers would be appointed. In the general category 125 guest teachers would be appointed in Hindi, while 59 in history, 130 in social science, 130 in economics and 67 in geography would be appointed.
In the general category 69 guest teachers would be appointed in Chamoli district, 46 in Rudraprayag, 119 in Pauri, 54 in Tehri, two in Dehradun, one in Haridwar, 17 in Uttarkashi, 58 in Almora, 21 in Nainital, 23 in Bageshwar, 64 in Pithoragarh, 29 in Champawat and eight in Udham Singh Nagar. The minister claimed that the appointment of guest teachers will help in smooth functioning of the schools in remote areas.
