Though no major damage was reported due to rain in the state on Saturday, a number of roads have remained blocked in different parts of the state. According to information provided by the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) on Saturday evening, at least 94 roads are blocked in the State. In Uttarkashi district three rural motor roads are blocked while the Rishikesh-Gangotri national highway 108 and Rishikesh-Yamunotri national highway 94 are open ahead of Chamba. In Dehradun district, the Rishikesh-Dehradun state highway is blocked due to the breaking of two portions of the Ranipokhri bridge as a result of which the Ranipokhri-Bhogpur-Thano route is being used instead.
National highway 123 Herbertpur-Badkot is blocked at kilometres 21, 28 and 31 while one main district road and 12 rural motor roads are also blocked. In the Chamoli district the Rishikesh-Badrinath national highway 58 is closed to traffic between Tapovan and Maletha due to debris with the alternative route of Dehradun-Mussoorie-Suakholi-Chamba-New Tehri-BPuram-Gadoliya-Maletha-Srinagar being in use. The Joshimath-Malari state highway has also remained blocked while 12 rural motor roads are also blocked in the district.
One main district road and eight rural motor roads are blocked in Pauri district while in Tehri district the NH 58 is blocked near Totaghati, NH 94 is washed out at Agrakhal-Gojmer-Dharasu and 13 rural motor roads are also blocked. Eight rural motor roads are blocked in Bageshwar district while in Nainital district the Ramnagar-Tallisethi-Betalghat state highway and three rural motor roads are blocked. Three rural motor roads are blocked in Almora district while in Champawat district the Tanakpur-Champawat national highway 9 is blocked near Swala apart from which one state highway and three rural motor roads are also blocked in the district.
Five border roads, one state motor road and 11 rural motor roads are blocked in Pithoragarh district. Efforts are underway to clear the blocked roads for resumption of traffic.
