The employee associations protesting against the incident in which the Primary Education director Ajay Kumar Naudiyal was assaulted in his office on Saturday have demanded that the Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau should seek a public apology for the incident.
All the associations of the employees and the teachers had given a work boycott call on Monday to register their protest. Thousands of government teachers and employees also wore black armbands on Monday to express their support for the agitation. The teachers and employees also sat on a Dharna at the State Education directorate on the day.
Acting swiftly, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called the leaders of the employee associations at his residence. In the meeting he assured that the safety of the employees would be ensured. A delegation of the employees also met the chief secretary Anand Bardhan on the day to discuss their concerns.
The president of the Rajkeeya Shikshak Sangh, Ram Singh Chauhan told The Pioneer that the employees of the State want the Raipur MLA, who led a group of people into the office of director and assaulted him should seek a public apology for his behaviour. He said that the employees will not tolerate such incidents and the government should ensure the safety of the employees.
Chauhan said that the protest of the employees and teachers is continuing and a decision on future course of action will be taken in a meeting with all the representatives of all the employee organisations on Tuesday.
