The president of the State Employees Joint Federation Arun Kumar Pandey along with its general secretary Shakti Prasad Bhatt met chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami here on Monday. They demanded that an official letter be issued to invite suggestions from major employee organisations in the State concerning the eighth Pay Commission.

Informing further about this, Pandey said that the Central government had recently sent a letter to the chief secretaries of 28 States on January 27, 2025, inviting suggestions for the eighth Pay Commission to be submitted by February 15, 2025. They highlighted that while Uttar Pradesh had invited suggestions from its major employee organisations, no such initiative has been taken in Uttarakhand.

He further said that in light of this, they met and urged the CM to issue a similar official letter in Uttarakhand, inviting suggestions from employee organisations, which should then be forwarded to the Central government. Further, he said that they also expressed concern that the report from the committee established by the State government to address pay anomalies from the seventh Pay Commission has yet to be made public. As a result, many departments have not had their pay anomalies resolved.

Pandey also informed the CM that personnel in the Excise department, despite being eligible, are facing reluctance from officers regarding the approval of ACP. The federation demanded that all relevant parties be directed to take action on these matters promptly, he said.
