The State government employees demanding restoration of the old pension scheme (OPS) will observe black day on October 1.
The employees will burn the copies of the new pension scheme (NPS) and unified pension scheme (UPS) in all parts of the State and will observe blackout of one hour in their houses in support of their demand for restoration of OPS. The president of Uttarakhand chapter of National Movement for restoration of Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS), Jeetmani Painyuli said that the NPS was implemented in the State on October 1, 2005 so the employees will register their protest by observing black day on October 1.
He claimed that all the employees and teachers will take part in the protest. Painyuli claimed that the huge success of Akrosh rallies taken out in all districts on September 27 has bolstered the morale of the employees. He said that a mega conclave in support of OPS would be organized in New Delhi on December 15.
He said that there are many flaws in the UPS due to which the employees have rejected it. Painyuli said that the government has divided the employees into three categories OPS, NPS and UPS which proves that it is playing divide and rule policy. He said that the employees are united in their demand for restoration for OPS and have rejected both the NPS and UPS.
