In the golden jubilee workshop of 104 cm Sampurnanand telescope held at Aryabhatta Research Institute of observational Studies (ARIES), the scientists were unanimous that the historic telescope should be protected with a better upkeep. Appreciating the research conducted by the telescope the experts opined that its capacity should be enhanced using modern technology.
The three day workshop ended on Tuesday. Speaking on the culminating day of the workshop, the former director of ARIES, Ramsagar said we should think about inventing new equipment other than those available in the market. Senior scientist Umesh Chandra Joshi said that ARIES has surpassed its infancy and now it should speed up its rate of development. The director, ARIES, Depankar Banerjee and others also expressed their views on the occasion.
