Encourage public involvement in protecting environment – Trivendra

Former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that the public involvement should be increased in the cause of protecting the environment. Giving the examples of Gaura Devi of Raini village of Chamoli district and the sacrifice of hundreds of women in Khejadli village of Rajasthan in the year 1731 Rawat said such sacrifices inspire everyone.
He was speaking at a ceremony organised to release a book on environment written by Deepak Kumar Bhatt and Kamal Joshi in Doon University on Saturday. Rawat said that the pandemic of Covid-19 has further highlighted the importance of the environment. The higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the role of teachers is of paramount importance in guiding the society.
The Vice Chancellor (VC) of Sridev Suman University P P Dhyani, VC of Doon University Surekha Dangwal and others were present on the occasion.
