Kumar directs officers to identify encroachments on government land

The director general of police Ashok Kumar on Monday directed all district and division in-charges of police to ensure the continued ccompliance to the directions of the Uttarakhand High Court regarding unauthorised use of loudspeakers. He also instructed officers to identify all government lands with permanent encroachments by dividing them into segments of individual and cluster lands.  He asked them to mark the encroachment on government land department-wise to take action in coordination with the task force to remove the encroachments as per the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The DGP issued these directions in a review meeting on Monday which was joined by all district and zonal in-charges of the state.

He directed the officials to raise awareness among the general public through posters and banners to maintain the sanctity and cleanliness of pilgrimages including Ganga Ghats under the campaign Mission Maryada. He also directed the police to take strict legal action against offenders under this campaign in coordination with the Special Task Force. The respective in-charges of police stations must also go out in the field to carry out verification processes of those arriving in their district from other states for work and other purposes. Their identities must also be re-conformed by the police officials concerned of their respective area after their verification process, said Kumar. He also directed the inspector general of Kumaon and Garhwal ranges to review cases of frauds pending for a year to take immediate action.

The additional director general of police, V Murugesan (Crime, Law and Order) and ADG (Intelligence and Security) AP Anshuman were also present in the meeting.
