Ensure culprits of brutal crimes against women get strict punishment: Kandwal

In view of crimes against women which recently came to light in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts the chairperson of Uttarakhand State Commission for Women (USCW) Kusum Kandwal has directed the deputy inspector general of police, P Renuka to ensure that the culprits get strict punishment.

Kandwal said that recently a man was arrested who has reportedly killed his two wives and his infant daughter in the Kiccha area of Udham Singh Nagar. Apart from this, a woman who was sick for months was reportedly raped by a man posing as a Tantrik and his accomplices in Haridwar. She said that these are shameful crimes against women and the police must ensure that all accused are arrested and brought to justice as soon as possible.

Kandwal said that she talked to the DIG regarding these cases and she said that police are investigating the matter and all accused will be arrested soon. She further appealed to the general public that they should stay away from the deception by dubious elements.
