Ensure proper arrangements for Devnayani fair: Maharaj

As in the past, thousands of people are expected to visit the Jagra (Devnayani) Mela at the Mahasu temple in Hanol. The State’s Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj directed officials to ensure that all necessary facilities are in place for the convenience of the visitors. Chairing a meeting with officials on Monday, the minister directed them to ensure the availability of clean drinking water, electricity supply, transportation, health facility and security along with timely completion of work to improve the condition of routes for convenient movement of the people visiting the Mahasu temple at Hanol and Chalda Maharaj temple in Dasau.

Maharaj said that the Devnayani fair will be held at the Mahasu Devta temple in Hanol on September 18 and at the Chalda Maharaj temple in Dasau on September 19. He said that all the departments concerned should complete their preparations for the events on time because as seen in the past, thousands of devotees are expected to visit these events this year too. He directed the officials to facilitate the operation of buses on routes leading to the shrine in Hanol and the rates of taxis for the events should also be fixed.

The operation of buses and taxis to Dasau should also be facilitated, he said. The minister said that during the Hanol fair, a health camp should be organised and 108 ambulance service along with medicines should also be made available. He directed Public Works Department officials to complete patchwork on the motor roads from Tyuni to Hanol and from Sahiya to Dasau so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience.
