Garhwal commissioner and Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) chairman Sushil Kumar has directed that project works which affect routine public life more during the rains should be expedited. Overflowing and such problems should be prevented. Further, contract firms and executing agencies were strictly directed to increase the number of labourers at each work site to complete the works soon. These instructions were issued during the 22nd board meeting of the DSCL.
The Garhwal commissioner was informed that at present the DSCL is operating 10 electric buses on two routes in the city. Five more electric buses have been received by the DSCL and these will soon be deployed to start service on the ISBT to Dehradun airport route. Officials further informed that public services provided by various departments including the municipal corporation, electricity and water supply have been connected to the Doon integrated command and control centre. Instructions were issued to do the needful for making necessary land available for the proposed construction of a green building. Kumar directed officials to ensure that all the works related to the modern Doon library project are completed by September 30 this year. He further said that contractors involved in the works at Parade Ground and Paltan Bazaar should be strictly instructed to ensure swift completion of their works. Strict action should be taken against them if the work is not completed soon, he added.
DSCL officials and officials of various linear departments concerned were also present in the meeting.
