The Garhwal MP and national media in-charge of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Anil Baluni said that the overwhelming enthusiasm during the Kedarnath nomination process on Monday signalled a clear win for the party candidate. Baluni said that all party workers and the family of the late Shaila Rani Rawat, the former Kedarnath MLA, are united in realising her vision for regional development.
In a media interaction on Monday, Baluni shared his experience during the nomination of BJP candidate Asha Nautiyal. “The scene at the BJP nomination event was a testament to the public’s support. We are confident of a victory with an even larger margin than before,” he said, adding that this atmosphere in favour of the BJP is likely to intensify in the coming days.
Baluni also reassured the people of Garhwal about development promises made to voters, stating that various ministries and departments of the central government are actively contributing. Ongoing projects include assessing new train routes, expanding Kanv Ashram as a prominent spiritual site, constructing a planetarium and planning road expansions. He confirmed that the administration has requested a list of roads halted due to Forest department objections and are working closely with nodal officers. “No road in Garhwal will be left unfinished due to forest and environmental laws,” he said. He also highlighted efforts to establish Ramnagar as a wildlife capital and enhance areas around Rishikesh to further enrich the Char Dham pilgrimage experience. Responding to a question about the late Rawat’s daughter, Baluni recalled her dedication and hard work during past elections, despite suffering an injury. He affirmed that her vision for development will be carried forward by all BJP workers and her family in unity.
