Every possible support to be given to dependents of freedom fighters- Dhami
The name of Kutumb pension changed to Samman Pension

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the dependents of the freedom fighters would be provided every possible support. He was speaking at the regional convention of freedom fighters and their inheritors organised at the Town hall of Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) here on Monday. The programme was organised to pay homage to the freedom fighters on the occasion of August Kranti day.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the role of the freedom fighters cannot be forgotten. He said that the country is moving ahead in the direction to fulfil the objectives of the freedom fighters. The CM added that India is moving forward in the direction of making the country free from malnutrition.
He said that August 9, 1942 is one of the most important dates in the history of India when the historic Quit Indian movement started. Dhami said that India attained freedom due to long struggle and hardships faced by the freedom fighters and today India is the largest democracy in the world.
The CM honoured the inheritors of the freedom fighters in the programme. He announced that the name of Kutumb pension being given to dependents of freedom fighters would be changed to ‘Samman Pension’ and a Swatantrata Senani Sewa Sadan would be set up in Haridwar.
MLA Adesh Chauhan, Mayor of Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, Ashok Verma, Mathura Dutt Joshi and others were present on the occasion.
