Taking exception to the comment made by former chief minister and Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat while talking in context of an officer of the State government, former CM Harish Rawat has said that use of derogatory language is unacceptable
When asked to comment on the statement of Revenue secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant that no illegal mining is going on in the State, the former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had told a media house that he will not comment on what the officer said and then added ‘Sher kutton ka shikar nahi karte hain’ (Lions don’t hunt dogs).
Reacting to this comment, the veteran Congress leader said that the former CMs should respect the officers. He said that it appears that the tongue of BJP leaders is continuing to slip. Rawat said that the former CM and BJP MP from Haridwar has raised the issue of illegal mining in the State on two occasions and it appears as if both the Union and the State governments are paying no heed to it. He said that excavation of the rivers of the State is continuing. Rawat said that it is surprising that an officer of the State government is responding to the allegation levelled by the Haridwar MP in the parliament. Rawat however added that the comment made by the former CM on the officer was not correct and reflects his arrogance.
