The agitators force him to return back from the temple

Former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat faced the heat of the anger the agitating Teerth Purohits have towards the Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board act when he was forced to return from the Kedarnath temple on Monday. The Teerth Purohits have also given a call to march to Kedarnath on November 3.

Rawat along with BJP state president Madan Kaushik and cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat had gone to Kedarnath shrine to pay their obeisance. However their way was blocked by a group of agitated slogans shouting Teerth Purohits at Sangam Bridge. Sensing the mood of the agitators the former CM returned to the GMVN guest house while BJP president Kaushik and Minister Dhan Singh were allowed to visit the temple. One of the Teerth Purohit said that Trivendra Singh Rawat was responsible for bringing the Char Dham Devasthanam act which is against the interests of Teerth purohits. He said that CM Puskhar Singh Dhami on September 11 had asked the Purohits to defer their protest till the end of October but now the anger of Teerth Purohits has flared up again.

The BJP government under CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had brought the Devasthanam Management board act for better management of Char Dhams and 50 other temples. However the Teerth Purohits and stakeholders are up in arms against the act. After assuming power CM Pushkar Singh Dhami had set up a high powered committee headed by senior BJP leader Manohar Kant Dhyani on the issue. However the Teerth Purohits are adamant to scrap the act.
