Exchange of ideas is part of ancient Indian culture & tradition: CM Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is working with dedication for encouraging cultural values and wholesome development of the State. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India today is working to conserve and promote its rich culture and tradition. The CM was addressing the inaugural session of the lecture series ‘ Gang Dhara: Ever flowing stream of ideas’ at Doon University on Saturday. He said that the flow of ideas prompts us to move forward in life and the exchange of ideas has always remained part of our traditions.
The CM said that in-depth discussion on migration, education, culture, environment and carrying capacity of Himalayas will be held in the two day lecture series.
He said that the State government will soon set up a centre for Hindu studies at Doon University where in-depth study and research will be done on Hindu civilization, philosophy, history and values.Dhami said that the State government has adopted the model of harmonization of economy and ecology for development. The CM averred that Uttarakhand is the only State of the country where apart from GDP efforts are being made to quantify the GEP. He said that the State government has acted against illegal encroachments and has implement stringent laws against religious conversions, riots and cheating in examination,
The lecture series is the brainchild of former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat. Swami Avdheshanand Giri of Juna Akhara, MLA Vinod Chamoli, VC of Doon University Surekha Dangwal and others were present on the occasion.
