Excise sleuths raid a spurious liquor factory

In latest news from Uttarakhand, acting on tip-offs, a combined team of officials led by the Udham Singh Nagar district excise officer raided a house at Bhurarani area in Rudrapur in Udham Singh Nagar district and found that spurious liquor was being manufactured from it. The team found and seized raw materials in huge quantity being used to prepare spurious liquor. The senior district excise department officers-privy to the details-said that they had received inputs from certain sources, saying that a man Vikas Mandal from Lalkuan who had been earlier caught running a spurious liquor factory had been frequenting Bhurarani area in Rudrapur for some days. The sleuths, who were keeping a watch on his movements, found him going towards Dwarka Enclave Phase 1 colony in Dharampur in Burarani in his car. Later, with the watch on him being maintained, he was found entering a room in a house in the colony. As the team members were enquiring about him from the residents of the colony, Mandal was found locking the room and boarding his car. As the sleuths motioned him to stop, he recognised them and sped away. Later the team members forced open the door of the room and found that it was being used to manufacture spurious liquor.
