Expedite process of making Ayushman cards: Health minister

Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed the officers of the department to expedite the process of making Ayushman cards.
The minister held a meeting with the officers of the department at the State Health Agency (SHA) on Saturday. In the meeting he directed the officers to tour the districts where fewer Ayushman cards had been made.
He said that special focus on the districts where less than 70 per cent Ayushman cards have been made. The minister said that officers have been entrusted with the task of coordination in Haridwar, Tehri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts so that the process of making cards is expedited. Rawat said the cooperation of Panchayati Raj, Social Welfare, Education and Food and Civil Supplies departments will be taken in the process of making Ayushman cards. He said that soon a meeting of chief medical officers (CMO) of all the districts will be convened for inter departmental coordination. He added that a task of making 1500 Ayushman cards per day will be given to the department.
The minister informed that the hospital working efficiently will be declared green channel hospitals. He directed the officers that they should cooperate with the private hospitals interested in getting affiliated with the SHA for the Ayushman scheme.
In the meeting discussions on including employees and pensioners of autonomous bodies in Ayushman scheme were also held.
The chief executive officer of SHA Anand Srivastava, director Dr BS Tolia and Atul Joshi were present in the meeting.
