Expedite works in Badrinath to prevent inconvenience to pilgrims: Ajay

The Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) chairman Ajendra Ajay directed officials to expedite reconstruction and other works in Badrinath with the temple slated to be reopened to the devotees later this month. He said this while inspecting the works along with departmental officials in Badrinath on Sunday. Stating that the portals of Badrinath temple will be opened to the public on April 27, he said that execution of all the works and arrangements should be expedited so that the pilgrims do not face any inconvenience due to the construction works. He said that devotees will have to use the new footpath to reach the temple this time due to the reconstruction works.

The footpath should be put in order on time so that the visitors do not face any inconvenience. Inspecting the constructions demolished near the temple, the BKTC chairman further said that personnel connected to the rituals in the temple should not face any problems related to accommodation. Prefabricated rooms should be erected near the temple as temporary accommodations. The debris of the BKTC VIP guest house also demolished should be disposed of at the earliest and a railing should be constructed near it on the footpath on the temple.

Since the VIP guest house has been demolished, the construction of prefabricated structures for short stay of special visitors should be completed at the earliest, he said. Officials were also directed to remove the debris from Brahmakapal and to ensure its cleanliness so that Pind Dan and other rituals can be conducted without inconvenience.
