Expedite works related to public facilities, says CM

Reviewing the execution of announcements made by the chief minister in Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar district, the chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat directed the officials to expedite the execution of schemes related to public facilities. Chairing the virtual meeting on Friday, Rawat directed the officials to expedite the execution of incomplete works for which the departmental officials should comprehend their responsibility.
The chief minister told the district magistrates to ensure that effective measures should be taken to ensure that the construction of roads is not delayed due to utility shifting. The execution of works pending due to forest land transfer should also be expedited. Effective measures should be taken and coordination should also be established with the government of India for this purpose. Rawat stressed that the departmental officials will have to comprehend their responsibility in resolving public issues and development of public facilities. He directed the officials to speed up the execution of construction of multi-storied parking at Ramnagar, drinking water schemes, tube-wells, overhead tanks, mini-stadium, bus station construction, covering canals and construction of various internal roads. Parking construction in Bhimtal, facilitating x-ray and ultrasound machines in various hospitals and beautification of Bhimtal, Sattal, Naukuchiyatal and Kamaltal among others should also be expedited. Further, the construction of mini-stadium in Lalkuan, setting up 55 hand pumps in Bindukhatta and reorganisation of drinking water scheme was also approved by the chief minister who also directed officials to speed up construction of multi-storied parking in Nainital, construction of helipad and auditorium.
In the Udham Singh Nagar district, Rawat told officials to speed up work on constructing the trenching ground in Rudrapur, preparing master plan for Rudrapur and other places, construction of the grain market and Transport Nagar. Similarly, in Kichha officials were told to prepare proposals for construction of bus station, building commercial complex at the location of the old bus station, establishing ethanol plant in Kichha sugar mill and other works.
It was stated in the meeting that in Nainital district- work on 32 out of 61 announcements had been completed in Ramnagar constituencies, nine out of 16 announcements in Bhimtal constituency, 32 out of 34 announcements in Kaladhungi, eight out of 23 in Lalkuan, 19 out of 29 in Nainital and nine out of 16 in Bhimtal. Similarly, in Udham Singh Nagar district, work had been completed on 10 out of 17 announcements in Rudrapur constituency, seven out of 13 in Kichha, 50 out of 63 in Khatima, 16 out of 24 in Nanakmatta and nine out of 12 in Sitarganj.
MLAs DS Bisht, Sanjiv Arya, Rajesh Shukla, Rajkumar Thukral, chief minister’s chief advisor Shatrughna Singh, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan and other officials concerned were also present in the meeting.
