Experience of retired employees can benefit society, say veterans

Retired employees have an important role in guiding the youth. The experience of the retired employees will be beneficial and helpful for the welfare of society. Speakers said this at a meeting of retired officers and employees of Jaunsar-Bawar region organised by social organisation Lok Panchayat. The event was held to mark the seventh foundation day of the organisation.

Those attending the event discussed issues including migration from rural mountainous areas, rising substance abuse in Jaunsar, importance of self employment, need for stopping sale of land leased in Jaunsar to people from outside the region and aspects related to the rights and security of the tribal community in detail. Padma Shri recipient progressive farmer Premchand Sharma, former ADG of Indian Coast Guard KR Nautiyal, ex-IAS officer Khushiram Agrawal, former IG Anantram Chauhan and others shared their views in the meeting.

The organisers said that Lok Panchayat has started a drive to enhance communication with the general public in the Jaunsar- Bawar region. Efforts are being made to make the youth aware of their cultural heritage, social customs, encourage cordial relations and cooperation along with the importance of local festivals, joint family system, hospitality and the rich culture of the region. The organisation’s member and joint director of the Information department, KS Chauhan, former information officer at Vidhan Sabha, Bharat Chauhan and others were also present on the occasion.
