The Speaker of Uttarakhand assembly Ritu Khanduri has said that the expert committee constituted to investigate the allegation of the irregularities in appointments and promotions in Vidhan Sabha secretariat is working very sincerely and exuded confidence that it would submit a report which would be decisive for Uttarakhand. Talking to the media persons on Wednesday Khanduri said that the expert committee is working even on Saturdays and Sundays and is working till late hours. She said that all the letters, documents and other information sought by the committee members is being provided by the Vidhan Sabha staff.
Acting on the complaints of irregularities and appointments of favour done during the tenure of her predecessors, Khanduri on September 3 had set up a three member expert committee to investigate the charges. The committee headed by former principal secretary Dilip Kumar Kotia has been asked to submit its report in a period of one month. The other two members of the committee are Surendra Singh Rawat and AS Nayal.
The expert committee would investigate the appointments made in the Vidhan Sabha in two phases, in the first phase the appointments done from the year 2012 till date would be investigated and in the second the appointments from the year 2000 to 2011 would be checked.
