The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that extending the term of administrators of the urban local bodies was necessary as the Lok Sabha notification will end on June 6 whereas the term of the administrators was ending before this. It was necessary to extend the term of the local body administrators. This will also provide adequate time to make the electoral roll, reservation and other electoral procedures for the local body elections more systematic. Whenever the commission announces the dates of the local body elections, the BJP organisation and the government are prepared for the local body polls. Referring to the allegations levelled by the Congress, he said that the Congress will lose irrespective of when the local body elections are held.
