Faceoff between Kaushik & Qazi on sugarcane payments

The Congress MLA from Manglaur accuses the minister of misleading the house on payment of sugarcane dues

Accusing the parliamentary affairs minister Madan Kaushik of misleading the house and furnishing wrong information to the members, the Congress MLA from Manglaur Qazi Nizamuddin submitted a notice for breach of privilege motion in Vidhan Sabha. He said that the minister on Tuesday had claimed that all dues of the sugarcane farmers for the year 2019-20 have been paid.

Qazi said that on Tuesday evening he got the information that the Rs 10 Crore of Iqbalpur Sugar mill are still not paid to the farmers. In his response the parliamentary affairs minister stood by his statement and said that the mill has made payment to the cooperative society which would pay the farmers.  On it the speaker Premchand Agarwal said that both the minister and Qazi are right in their perspective and hence the issue should not be pursued further and should be considered as solved.
