Police stress that action will be taken as per law & not under pressure

The national president of Kisan Union Kranti Morcha Vikas Saini reached Gangnahar police station on Sunday and warned that if the case of a woman whose mechanical excavator was taken away by employees of a finance company is not registered by the police, cattle will be tethered in the police station. He alleged that there is talk of some police personnel also colluding with the employees of the finance company and harassing the woman. On the other hand, the police have stated that the mechanical excavator was auctioned by the bank following the failure of the woman to pay her loan installments. Action will be taken as per the law and not under pressure, the police have stressed.

A woman resident of Salempur village in the Gangnahar Kotwali area had bought a JCB excavator a few years ago on finance. It is being said that she had deposited about 40 installments while about eight installments are still left. It is alleged that the employees of the finance company took away the woman’s JCB for not depositing the remaining installment.

About three months ago, when the woman saw her JCB machine parked outside the ARTO office, she called some people from the village. The woman also took the JCB with her.  On Sunday, the Civil Lines police station reportedly called and asked the woman to bring the JCB machine to the police station.  When the woman refused, the police warned that a case would be filed. The woman then informed office bearers of the Kisan Union Kranti Morcha about the case. Responding to her, Saini reached the police station along with farmers. He alleged that the employees of the finance company had secretly sold the JCB to someone and that it was now being registered afresh. He also accused the police of colluding with the employees of the finance company. Saini warned the police that if the harassment of the woman continues, they will tether cattle in the police station.  At the same time, the police said that the bank had auctioned the woman’s JCB online for not depositing the installment and this JCB machine was bought by Ghaziabad resident Fazal ur Rehman. Rehman had sent the JCB to the ARTO office.  In this case, an application has been given to the police on behalf of Fazal ur Rehman.  For this reason the police had asked the woman to bring the JCB to the police station. Civil Lines inspector Devendra Chauhan said that action will be taken according to the law, stressing that work will not be done under any pressure.
