In a ghastly crime that sent shock waves across Uttarakhand, a drunken son hacked to death his father who was an ex-army man. The crime happened in Shantipuri-1 in Udhamsingh Nagar at around 11 Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Diwan Giri.
Police said his son Bhajman is a habitual drunkard and would often quarrel with his father and other members of the family. The same happened Thursday night and as his father was trying to calm him down, Bhajman stabbed him multiple times, leaving him grievously injured. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. Bhajman was later arrested and the murder weapon was recovered.
