Father’s Day Inspiration: Indomitable courage of a father for cancer-afflicted child

A Father Chooses to Disregard His Career to Help His Little Son Fight Cancer. Seeks to Crowdfund INR 1.05 crore on ImpactGuru

In the midst of our fast-paced lives, it is often the exceptional stories of ordinary people that touch our hearts and remind us of the power of love and resilience inherent in us. One such story revolves around Jitesh Pawar, a doting father who has set aside his professional responsibilities to stand by his son Samyak in his challenging battle against deadly cancer.

Samyak, a vibrant and courageous six-year-old boy, was diagnosed with high-risk metastatic Neuroblastoma stage 4, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. During Diwali in 2022, Samyak, then five years old, experienced persistent back pain, leaving his parents worried. They initially consulted a pediatrician who prescribed some standard medications. When the pain did not subside, they consulted an orthopedic who recommended an MRI scan. The scan confirmed their worst fear, revealing the presence of a tumor. They were then referred to an oncologist who diagnosed Samyak with high-risk metastatic Neuroblastoma stage 4.

Neuroblastoma Stage 4 is aggressive cancer that primarily affects young children, posing a significant threat to their life. It is characterised by the rapid growth of tumors in the adrenal glands, neck, chest or spinal cord. Treatment often involves a combination of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy, stem cell transplant and immunotherapy. The family is now seeking financial support to the tune of INR 1.05 crore through the online crowdfunding platform ImpactGuru.com, to cover the cost of his treatment.

The fundraiser campaign is hosted on  https://www.impactguru.com/fundraiser/help-samyak-pawar

Jitesh was a salaried employee and he had already exhausted his savings, sold their jewelry and taken loans from his employer to cover the cost of previous treatment procedures. Samyak’s mother, a housewife, stands by her son with unwavering love and care. The financial burden associated with Samyak’s treatment has taken a toll on the Pawar family.

“Samyak, like any other six-year-old, enjoys watching cartoons such as Chota Bheem and Shinchan and his face lights up when he engages in colouring activities. He enjoyed savouring non-veg delicacies, but the dietary restrictions do not allow him to eat non-veg food and dairy products anymore. We are humbly reaching out to the community via ImpactGuru.com to support our little fighter Samyak” said Jitesh.

This Father’s Day, let us put the spotlight on Jitesh’s indomitable courage and commitment as a father. His persistent efforts to ensure that Samyak receives the best care possible, coupled with his invincible determination to shoulder the financial burden of the treatment, have been nothing short of extraordinary.
