KSM Film Productions is set to release its Bollywood film ‘5th September’ across India on July 18. The film was shot in Uttarakhand. Addressing the media, the film’s director, producer and co-writer Kunal Shamshere Malla described the film as a milestone for Uttarakhand, highlighting its local involvement in terms of cast, crew, music and narrative.
The film’s cast includes Victor Banerjee, Sanjay Mishra, Atul Srivastava, Kavin Dave, Maliha Malla and Rishabh Khanna, among others including local actors. “This is not just a film but a tribute to teachers, students and to Uttarakhand itself. We’ve filmed every frame here, cast local talent and embedded our culture into the heart of the story,” he said.
The film revolves around the final year of school life for a group of students and their teachers. The story is about the bond between mentors and learners, the pressures of growing up and a symbolic football match that ties everything together.
Malla said that during the making and shooting of the film, he did not face any challenges and found Uttarakhand to be the best place to shoot without any hurdles. He claimed that it is the only Bollywood film to feature two Garhwali songs.
