Finally complete unlock in Uttarakhand from Feb 1
All activities would now be permitted outside containment zones. District administration to enforce Covid appropriate behaviour and SOPs
Following the guidelines issued by the Union government, the Uttarakhand government issued orders for removal of lockdown from February 1 in the state.
Now all activities would be permitted outside containment zones. However the activities like social, religious, sports, entertainment and other gatherings would be subject to strict adherence of SOPs.
In a letter directed to the additional chief secretaries, Principal Secretaries, police officials, secretaries and district magistrates, the Chief Secretary Om Prakash said that there shall be no restriction on inter-State and intra-State movement of persons and goods including those for cross land-border trade under Treaties with neighbouring countries. Now no separate permission or e permit will be required for such movements. He however added that considering the Kumbh Mela- Haridwar, the state government would issue separate SOPs soon.
The CS clearly said that the District administration shall take all necessary measures to promote Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and ensure wearing of face masks, hand hygiene and social distancing. He cautioned that observance and enforcement of social distancing in crowded places, especially in markets, weekly bazaars and public transport, is also critical for containing the spread of the infection.
The CS said that all the District Magistrates (DM) shall strictly enforce the SOPs and can impose restrictions under section 144. The DMs have been authorised to demarcate containment zones at micro level and it would be the responsibility of the local district, police and municipal authorities to ensure that prescribed containment measures are strictly followed.
