A state-of-the-art indoor firing range was inaugurated at Kumaun University‘s DSB campus in Nainital. Facilities for four air rifles and four air pistols have been provided in this range to facilitate regular and structured firing practice opportunities to the NCC cadets studying in this campus. Besides, this facility will benefit them to prepare for the state and national level camps/competitions and selection in defence services.
The deputy director, Uttarakhand NCC Directorate, Brigadier Sanjay Chauhan officially inaugurated the firing range. In his inspirational address, he said that NCC is not just limited to parade and discipline but it develops values like self-reliance and leadership along with patriotism in the youth. “This will further provide a solid foundation to the cadets towards excellence, making them more capable for the defence services,” he added.
