First Public Health Garden comes up at Lalkuan on FRI’s initiative

In latest Uttarakhand news, the State’s first public health garden has been inaugurated in Lalkuan in Nainital district by the principal chief conservator of forest Anup Malik. Notably, the park has come up on the initiative of the Forest Research Institute (FRI). This park will facilitate the people to have knowledge of the medicinal plants good for their health. Inaugurating the park, Malik said that this was a great achievement on the part of the FRI. “Spread over about three hectares of land, this park is meant to conserve over 240 medicinal plant species. The visitors will be told about the medicinal plants so as to inspire them to make these plants parts of their daily lives. These plants are loaded with enormous health facilities and it will be explained which plant will enhance the functioning of which organ of the body,” he added. Many senior forest officials were present at the inauguration programme.
