In order to conduct free and fair civic body election in Tehri district, the first training was given to the polling personnel at the Nagar Palika Parishad here on Thursday. All the zonal magistrates, sector magistrates, presiding officers and polling officers participated in it. They were given a comprehensive theoretical and practical training by the master trainers, the district administration said.
The district magistrate Mayur Dixit asked the polling personnel to identify the voters from the list. Before voting, they should check the sealing of the ballot boxes and the polling materials. They should also ensure that there is no promotional activity within 200 meters of the polling station. Besides, they were asked to stay the night before the polling date at the polling station only.
