Greeting the people on the eve of the third Shahi Snan of the Kumbh Mela to be held on the occasion of Mesh Sankranti on Wednesday, chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat said that the first two Shahi Snans of the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar had been organised successfully in a safe manner. He said that the members of the religious fraternity and general devotees are appreciative of the arrangements made by the state government.
The state government has made all the arrangements to ensure that the Sadhus and other devotees do not face any inconvenience during the third Shahi Snan. Time slots have been allotted to the Akhadas while separate arrangements have been made for the general devotees to bathe in the Ganga. All the security staff, sanitation workers, medical staff and others are discharging their duties efficiently. He appealed to all coming to attend the third Shahi Snan to follow the Central government’s Covid guidelines. All the devotees should wear masks, maintain social distancing and frequently wash their hands properly, he added.
