Five arrested for theft at showroom & godown

The Dehradun police have arrested five accused for the alleged theft at a showroom in Vikasnagar and a godown at Canal Road here in January and February. The accused have been identified as Rakesh Pal from Haridwar, Sudhir Sharma from Meerut, Rajat Bharadwaj from Etah in Uttar Pradesh (UP) Saugandh Kumar from Badaun in UP and a female accused Nishadh from Dehradun. The accused have also been arrested for such crimes in other cities too including Haridwar, Roorkee and some cities of UP in the past. The police informed that the complainants from the Honda showroom and godown in Canal Road filed a complaint against the accused on January 24 and February 24 respectively against theft in their establishments. After investigation, the police arrested the accused from near a farmhouse on Canal Road on March 9. The police have recovered the car used to conduct the crime, a cash amount of Rs 76,600 and a mobile, bike and scooty bought with the stolen money by two accused besides an iron rod used in the thefts. According to the police, they have seized items worth Rs 2,81,600 from the accused. They will be presented in court soon. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Janmejaya Khanduri has also announced to reward an amount of Rs 20,000 to the team that nab these accused.
