Five cases of dengue & one of Covid-19 reported in Dehradun

Dehradun district reported five new cases of dengue and one case of Covid-19 on Tuesday. The Dehradu Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma stated that out of the five dengue cases, one was reported at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, three at Himalayan Hospital and one at the Combined Medical Institute (CMI) Hospital. This brings the cumulative total of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 290, with 141 cases originating from Dehradun and 149 from other districts or States.
Currently, there are 20 active dengue patients receiving treatment: 13 at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, four at Himalayan Hospital, one at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital, one at Graphic Era, and one patient is being cared for at home.
Additionally, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and Health department volunteers conducted 9,816 household surveys on Tuesday to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, 119 homes were found to have larvae. ASHA workers and volunteers also examined 62,226 containers during the surveys and discovered that 143 of them contained larvae.
Further, Sharma informed that one local case of Covid-19 was reported on Tuesday, raising the cumulative total of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the district to 121, which includes 100 local residents and 21 migrants. Currently, there are two active Covid-19 cases in Dehradun district. On Tuesday, 12 samples were tested for Covid-19, contributing to a cumulative total of 1,375 samples tested. Sharma also said that no deaths from Covid-19 have been reported in Dehradun district so far.
