Five deaths, 2,184 new cases of Covid in U’khand

The state health department reported 2,184 new cases of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and death of five patients from the disease in Uttarakhand on Sunday.
The state health department has so far detected 75,101 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 41,892 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 118 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. On Sunday 20,779 samples were sent to the laboratory for testing by the authorities.
The recovery percentage of the disease was at 55.78 per cent on Sunday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 8.96 per cent on the day.
The authorities reported the death of two patients each at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital and Prem Sukh hospital Dehradun while one patient was reported dead at Kailash hospital Dehradun on Sunday.
The health department reported 602 new patients from Dehradun, 322 from Almora, 212 from Rudraprayag, 199 from Haridwar, 181 from Udham Singh Nagar,95 from Nainital, 93 from Uttarkashi, 80 from Pithoragarh, 71 from Chamoli, 64 from Bageshwar, 62 from Tehri and 36 from Champawat on Sunday.
The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 30,790. Dehradun with 14,885 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 3,864 active cases of the disease which is followed by Nainital district with 2,989 active cases. Uttarkashi is at the bottom of the table with 276 active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 1,20,055 people were vaccinated in 1451 sessions in the state held on Sunday.
