Five deaths, 713 new cases of Covid-19 in U’khand

The state health department reported the death of five patients and 713 new cases of the Covid-19 in Uttarakhand on Wednesday. On the day 2,155 patients recovered from the disease.

In the state 86,561 new cases of the disease have been reported so far from January 1 this year. A total of 75,391 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 215 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 87.10 per cent on Wednesday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 3.01 per cent on the day. 

The authorities reported the death of one patient each at Mahant Indiresh hospital, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, Synergy hospital, B C Joshi hospital Nainital and  Brijlal hospital Nainital on Wednesday.

The health department reported 227 new patients from Dehradun, 107 from Haridwar and 81 patients from Chamoli district on Wednesday.

The active case count of Covid-19 in the state has now dropped to 8,235.  Dehradun with 4,245 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 1,373 active cases of the disease. Udham Singh Nagar is at the bottom of the table with 41 active cases of the disease.  In the ongoing vaccination drive 31,514 people were vaccinated in 1301 sessions in the state held on Wednesday.
