Five districts still unrepresented; only one woman in team
Even after the exercise to give representation to all sections and regions of the state, chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat failed in giving representation to five out of 13 districts of the state in his council of ministers. The new team of ministers has no representation from Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Champawat districts. In his team three ministers are from Pauri-Satpal Maharaaz from Chaubattakhal, Harak Singh Rawat from Kotdwar and Dhan Singh Rawat from Srinagar.
Though Tirath Singh Rawat is not a member of assembly, he too belongs to Pauri district. The council of ministers has two members from Udham Singh Nagar district – Yashpal Arya from Bajpur and Arvind Pandey from Gadarpur, one each from Tehri – Subodh Uniyal from Narendranagar, Dehradun- Ganesh Joshi from Mussoorie, Haridwar- Swami Yatishwaranand from Haridwar rural, Pithoragarh- Bishan Singh Chufal from Didihat, Almora- Rekha Arya from Someshwar and Nainital -Banshidhar Bhagat. Tirath Singh Rawat’s team would have only one woman minister- Rekha Arya while there is no representation of Scheduled Tribes (ST).
