Five injured after bus overturns in Tehri

Five passengers were injured after a bus overturned in Tehri district on its way to Pauri from Rishikesh on Monday. The station house officer (SHO) of Devprayag in Tehri, Sanjay Mishra informed that the bus which was carrying about 22 passengers overturned at around 2:30 PM in the Devprayag area. He said the police arrived on the scene immediately after receiving the information about the accident. He said that five passengers who were injured were taken to the nearby community health centre (CHC) with the help of locals.
The SHO said that one injured passenger is from Pauri named Ankush Singh (28), two passengers are from Rishikesh named Saveena Singh (15) and Surji Devi (85) and the other two injured passengers are from Himachal Pradesh named Vinod Kumar (41) and Banshi Lal (34). He said that injuries are not severe and all injured will be better soon as per the doctors. On the question of the cause of the accident, Mishra said that according to the driver, the brakes of the bus failed on the way due to which he tried to stop the bus but it overturned.
