Five youths dead, one critical after SUV falls off road

Five college students met a tragic end when the SUV they were travelling in fell off the road near Mussoorie on Saturday. The accident occurred early in the morning when the driver of the vehicle they were traveling in lost control. The victims have been identified as Aman Singh Rana (22) from Sahaspur, Dingansh Pratap Bhati (23) from Haridwar, Haridyansh Chandra (24) from Uttar Pradesh, Ashutosh Tiwari (23) from Uttar Pradesh and Tanuja Rawat (22) from Haridwar. Nayanshri (24) from Meerut was critically injured in the mishap. The group had gone on a trip to Mussoorie and was returning when the accident occurred.
According to the police, the accident took place early in the morning at about 5:30 AM. The driver of a vehicle identified as a Ford Endeavor lost control and plunged about 60 metres down the road near Pani Wala Bend near Mussoorie, resulting in the deaths of five youths. The police informed that the bodies were extracted and the two injured were rescued by the team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the Police and the fire brigade. They rescued two women and transported them to the hospital where one died during treatment. Nayanshri was reported to be in a critical condition till the time of this report being filed. The police said that the bodies of the five victims have been sent the bodies for post-mortem.
