Additional chief secretary Radha Raturi said that the responsibility of officials at every level should be fixed in the police and administration. She said this while chairing a video conference of all district magistrates and senior superintendents of police to review the law and order situation in the State on Monday.
She directed senior officials to effectively supervise their subordinates. Considering the coming festival season, Raturi directed all DMs and SSPs to keep an eye on criminal elements, strengthen the traffic system in cities, ensure adequate parking, prevent possible fire incidents, ensure observance of standard operating procedures in the sale of fireworks and ensure the implementation of the directions of the National Green Tribunal and the court. She directed that considering the coming festive season, parking arrangements should be made in vacant places. Police officers were directed to remain in the field during the peak hours.
The director general of police Ashok Kumar directed the superintendents of police in the districts to ensure monitoring through basic drill, dog squad, ATS team and BDS to effectively clamp down on crime incidents. Various other aspects of crime, law and order were also reviewed during the meeting.
