Covid guidelines to be implemented strictly during Char Dham Yatra
Considering the rise in Covid-19 cases in various States, the Uttarakhand government will focus on increasing the range of Covid testing and vaccination. The guidelines of the Central and State governments will also be strictly implemented during the Char Dham Yatra set to start later this month. The Health department officials have been directed to make all necessary arrangements to provide better health facilities to those arriving in the State for the pilgrimage. Further, the posting of doctors and paramedical staff on the Yatra routes will be ensured by April 15. The State’s Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said this while chairing a review meeting with officials on Monday.
Rawat said that Covid cases are rising swiftly in various States. Considering this the Covid testing and vaccination will be expedited in Uttarakhand. Further, the guidelines issued from time to time by the Central and State governments will also be implemented strictly. If needed, vaccination camps will be set up at bus stations, railway stations and airports along with other public places. The minister said that the Char Dham Yatra is set to begin from April 22 and lakhs of people from across the nation are expected to arrive in the State for this pilgrimage. Departmental officials have been directed to facilitate health facilities along the Yatra routes. The Health director general Dr Vinita Shah has been directed to inspect all medical units and temporary medical relief points on the Yatra routes to check the arrangements. She has also been directed to ensure the posting of specialist doctors, doctors and paramedical staff on the Yatra routes by April 15.
