Fog warning issued for plains, dry weather likely in State today

With no scope forecast for snowfall or rain on Christmas, those connected to the tourist sector are now hoping for snowfall in time for New Year celebrations. Tourists have already thronged popular hill stations including Mussoorie and Nainital for Christmas and New Year celerbations. Those involved in tourism related businesses were hoping that snowfall would further increase tourist numbers during these holidays.
Meanwhile, the State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of dense fog in the some parts in the plains while dry weather is likely to prevail in all the districts of the State today. Apart from this, dry weather is forecast in the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with mist ikely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum temperature is likely to rise while the minimum temperature is likely to drop by a notch in Dehradun today. According to the weather forecast, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 23 degrees Celsius and six degress Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 22.2 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 24.4 degrees Celsius and 5.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 16 degrees Celsius and 5.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 17.2 degrees Celsius and five degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
